COURTNEY MIKAELA 

I’m Courtney Mikaela, an artist based in the beautiful Adelaide Hills of South Australia. Fun fact: I live inside a wildlife sanctuary! The country landscape and abundance of life around me has become a source of endless inspiration for my work. Literally the second I turned 30 I became a bird nerd (send help!), and lately the fascination has started finding its way into my paintings. My work is a delicate balance of detail and abstraction, reflecting nature’s harmonious blend of playful movements and moments of stillness. I love layering acrylics, oils and pastels to capture fleeting moments in nature. 

 

Career highlights: Courtney was selected as a finalist in the Bluethumb Art Prize 2022, and exhibited in the Art Gallery of New South Wales as a finalist in the 2020 Artstart Emerging Art Prize. Courtney hosted her third successful solo exhibition as part of SALA Festival in 2023, where she debuted her latest collection of landscapes ‘Places of Calm’, in collaboration with Bentley Adelaide. Her work has also been featured in the pages of Vanity Fair UK, British Vogue and Belle Australia.
